In October 2022 I left Twitter. This is my tweet archive for April 2022.
Tweets
- Moved to a new office space, because our team is growing and I'll have a junior cloud engineer starting in May, so I needed a place where I can sit next to them. Whiteboard is incoming! https://t.co/zrm4p3xRLB
- Yes, awkward because that's the first attack on Russion ground after Russion slaughtering Ukraininians for an entire month. And Ukraine didn't even kill someone. https://t.co/JvbTerOc4K
- How I imagine corporate IT while I install Ubuntu on my workstation as a long time Arch user. 😧 https://t.co/juNZK7KlwK
- @herrnentu It's exactly the same desk. Mine is adjusted to standing height.
- True, but here is another truth: You can by certificates, but you cannot buy entry level dev jobs where you can gain that experience. https://t.co/Iqz3wwcgR3
- @Argorak Yeah ... There is actually an amazing office space in a former church in Trondheim. That would be awesome: https://t.co/wAndTXAgRU
- I mean, we have a chip shortage now, as well... https://t.co/PMGLhKTR2z
- @evenstensberg https://t.co/J4E120kfku

- .@Microsoft, you know where to send the profits to: https://t.co/F6Tmv99uA5 https://t.co/C2jd9wVb9m
- @goldbergyoni C, using a short-lived JWT (<5 mins), which it gets passed from 1.
- @pati_gallardo Impact: how meaningful is my contribution.
- Right! It's the wrong framing, manual is seen as less sophisticated. But testers are exploratory system engineers who uncover unknown behaviour (AKA bugs). This requires a wide range of cognitive, technical and collaborative skills. I prefer to call them Quality Advocates. https://t.co/y5BzUMMXsP
- @schnoerpsel @mattsches Mainz und Wiesbaden. Darmstadt ist auch sehr schön. ;-D
- Spring in #Trondheim 🇳🇴 https://t.co/nZnyngPxuh

- I wish ... https://t.co/PUetm1gKbR
- @tdpauw Buy a new battery (usually around 30 EUR) and then you can donate it later once the new one arrived! So many migrants and asylum seekers can really use a laptop.
- @agiledivider The Pipeline game by @emilybache helps teams to playfully discover bottlenecks: https://t.co/7iBMxNoiB9 Arguably Event Storming is a game as well: https://t.co/TCtOWTXvc1 And you should interview @malk_zameth, he probably knows 100.

- @FranziskaNaja Ihre Stimme ist der Hammer.
- A beautiful morning in #Trondheim. 🇳🇴 https://t.co/9ahxwaqdxV
- @tdpauw Oh, you have a Mac, right...
- @NicolaLindgren Yes, there is no incentive to be honest, so why bother.
- @liatrisbian Product Engineer / Product Developer?
- @RidingWolf @tdpauw I can't see the tweet. Which device are you referring to?
- This is shameful by @SAP to keep business ties with Russia intact. https://t.co/amAW4QjXrp
- Frontend development is hard! https://t.co/Dv852tcAk2
- Scarily accurate! (Born in 1980). https://t.co/ky9pGP8YyI
- Heard from two different Norwegian companies that managers are reading Team of Teams: https://t.co/Ai1BbLtNsA ... earmarked for myself.
- @herrnentu You should not put pirated content with your real name on the internet.
- Are you @AndoyaSpace's next Roger Wilco? https://t.co/xwgThKv1K0
- *chuckles in German* #saft https://t.co/S0YEYKbdxH
- https://t.co/jZoJmentau
- @byteborg It's the @hardwario_en Chester: https://t.co/1NDGzOl8uL https://t.co/AI33VZZonD
- @SoCraTes_Conf @kjerstibb remember to sign up for this amazing unconf!
- Happy to announce that I'll be bringing a few of my colleagues this year to Soltau, and for @NordicTweets to be the first sponsor listed on the event's website. This community is special, and I am extremely excited to be meeting you in person again! https://t.co/2k8ylRN2ZL
- @vicbergquist Oh really?!
- @NativeWired That sounds like some good new!
- @pati_gallardo @Argorak
- @bjartnes Sounds pretty accurate.
- Wir hatten auch Mal Blei im Benzin. https://t.co/E2oPE2pDgU
- Now every Lambda function comes with its own HTTP endpoint. No more need to configure an API Gateway! https://t.co/4XR1TbIgnT
- You might not have @NordicTweets on your radar if you are interested in working on #cloud-based projects because we don't have a track record in building world class cloud solutions ... yet. But have a look at this: (source: https://t.co/2aUHMQ8PnR) https://t.co/igGySkzYTS
- #CellularIoT revenue last year was ~3%, it's cute. But this is going to grow rapidly; after all Nordic invested USD$100M+ into this new product (the #nRF9160), and launched it in 2018. It takes a while for hardware products to reach production maturity, but it's starting now.
- So, if you are looking to join a young and developing segment, within a very well established and technically excellent organization, which will give you both access to fantastic resources and a lot of opportunities to grow learn, have a look at our jobs: https://t.co/PQzXx9qu5D
- We have quite a few cloud, frontend, and mobile roles which you might not associate with a chip manufacturer. My more experienced colleagues especially enjoy the deep focus on solving those challenging technical problems, which we can't google, because we see them first.
- I'm happy to answer you questions, my DMs are always open.
- Note that contrary to what is mentioned in the blog post, support is not yet available in CloudFormation or CDK: https://t.co/vaMxyokL0y
- @kmelve TBH this will immediately make me click unsubscribe for all future marketing emails. I don't need a reminder to a service that I just signed up to. @sanity_io
- Shout out to @aebaR who has been improving the React code @DistributeAid which I don't have the patience to deal with. 🙏🏻 https://t.co/1G2bnoTHrK
- @kmelve @sanity_io But why can't you put this on the page after the (first) login / once signup is completed? Why sent it in an email?
- @kmelve @sanity_io Yeah, I'm not saying this is true for anyone, but me. One solution could be a checkbox during signing: "email me getting started instructions".
- @kmelve @sanity_io Yeah, there is no other obvious solution then releasing it and seeing how it performs. If I were interested in an email, I'd love to get a hello world walkthrough with pre-filled API keys and TypeScriptsample, so I can start building withouth needing to dig through the docs.
- @kmelve @sanity_io TS is amazing for beginners, because auto complete in your IDE.
- @IamStan I think AWS looked at CloudFlare and was like "Oh shit."
- I think this time AWS looked at CloudFlare and was like "Oh shit." https://t.co/AjZ6cpOxFY
- @marekq @IamStan Yeah, their product is more specialized / focused. AWS after all needs to serve more use cases ...
- @EmmaBostian You should become an influencer for https://t.co/YqJADLGR3v then ...

- @TorstenRobitzki @NordicTweets Yes, that's the beauty in Trondheim, so many places to have an amazing view from: https://t.co/8aXW3aafqi
- @RidingWolf @SoCraTes_BE @SoCraTes_Conf I guess we could solve this if conferences hand out colored stickers so we can mark our preferences for - taking pictures - hugs - handshake - pronouns
- @RidingWolf @SoCraTes_BE @SoCraTes_Conf Ah, is this related to some tax stuff for your equipment?
- @ezagroba @NicolaLindgren @scriptmunkee @maaretp @j19sch @FullSnackTester VS Code LiveShare is pretty good. https://t.co/EjmpOEeDsy It allows participants to access your local environment.

- Attending the @iotffm meetup and learning about an open-source #IoT device management platform: @balena_io ... However, not surprisingly, the "smallest" IoT device supported is one that can run Linux. https://t.co/KHya6JhSp3
- @lea_rosema There's much more on tech than enterprise application development.
- @lea_rosema There are also Startups and smaller IT companies. I can share a few tips of you are interested.
- @lea_rosema I've seen friends leave tech, because it's hostile and arrogant. So you are not alone in your experience. I think it's a good idea to take a step back and reflect.
- Preparing physical onboarding of a new colleague ... 😅 https://t.co/VL27SC0aXn
- @pati_gallardo PDF on your website?
- We are going to talk about humans and software on June 8th! https://t.co/5GoCoyTpSa

- @naduelicious I do have seen those people... https://t.co/GXaR5qpVZ8
- @NicolaLindgren I try to create a very low barrier to opt out. I literally ask them to "please say no or ignore" my request. OTOH I also invest in scoping the request clearly. I personally have no problem with saying no. I have to be in charge of my time, nobody else can do this for me.
- @lea_rosema Thanks for letting us know. 💙
- @NicolaLindgren On The Other Hand
- Working on adding @ConfBuddy info to the @SoCraTes_Conf website. I'm pretty sure there is a need for buddies now even more on the other side of a pandemic.
- New #ESM features are coming to TypeScript: https://t.co/4Yh1SoyyNX
- It's called OneDrive, but OneNote does not even talk to it. https://t.co/7nbQPTfzI9
- @LenaPejgan That's so interesting. I always want to know from a candidate, what they want to achieve, so I wonder what you might have said that's considered too much?
- @pati_gallardo Yeah, just listen to what Thiel thinks: uncontrollable capital must rule the world. https://t.co/zmAsTIW7LH
- @LenaPejgan Oh, interesting. I'd see this as a healthy way to treat your role: always growing.
- This season some escooters come with helmets! Great idea! 🚴 https://t.co/VmgEh2QMDC
- @miskaknapek Yeah, next year we'll see football body armour.
- @miskaknapek Dressed to scoot: https://t.co/nzXo57qauZ
- @NicolaLindgren @HannesLindblom You see what you did there?! 😁
- It's live now on https://t.co/7kF5UqWs7T https://t.co/gFAIF5EOZR
- @olafurw 🍆🍑 means the literal fruit or vegetable
- @kotzendekrabbe You need a significant amount (good amount is more than 20%) income from other contracts and need to maintain marketing efforts to promote your services. It's still pretty problematic in Germany for solo consultants. @VGSDeV offers great resources and support.
- Scary implications in there. "Ukraine needs security guarantees, it needs to be able to defend itself or it will not be a sovereign country anymore. «I am sorry but Italy and most European countries cannot defend themselves either»." https://t.co/Wg2C5UjZxx
- Beautiful set: https://t.co/tKg908bois
- @kotzendekrabbe @VGSDeV I wouldn't do that. You can invest your pension money better in an ETF.
- @kotzendekrabbe @VGSDeV But, VGSD has local meetings as well, they can find somebody that figures it out. I'd also recommend talking to a consultant from https://t.co/kaS1juWvpx ... Ours is based in Darmstadt, so you might find one closer to you.
- Yes, with all the work we *could* solve through software implementation @DistributeAid, we need to find *highly flexible and usable* tools that allow reports to be maintained without code. Sometimes a manual step is enabling a scenario that could not have been foreseen in code. https://t.co/Y3JIrvgfe4
- @kotzendekrabbe @VGSDeV If you work as a contractor (aka Freiberufler) you are generally not required to pay social security. Is that what you mean with "main freelance contractor"? However, if you work exclusively for one client, you have to pay, yes: https://t.co/ZhMwjzOBgc
- @oredev Hello?! https://t.co/yXlORwl9F3
- A way to make a lot of money without much responsibility. https://t.co/svNTtikvfx

- @troubalex God påske! 🥚
- #SaveTheBees https://t.co/zs88MFNqSA
- The needs assessment tool I've built for @DistributeAid made it into this article! 💙 https://t.co/bjnW9Zvwiy
- Oh, last week I was looking for a nice way to set up docs for contributing/first timers to @DistributeAid on GitHub but didn't find a nice place. This is it! We can get rid of Notion for code related intro docs! https://t.co/CGcJa0pVHY
- @borderless_dev @DistributeAid Yes exactly, it feels weird to have info about our code projects on Notion.
- @borderless_dev @DistributeAid @loom @Codeseeio Not yet, but we can add a still image and link to the video, like here: https://t.co/oxLkI9uUhe
- Went to #Legoland today, great fun for all the kids, regardless of age. https://t.co/4fuOeDVaas
- I talked to @mergify how I use it, and how happy I am about that: https://t.co/Ecv0oGOrmn
- @w3ltraumpirat Ah, sorry that it didn't work out for you!
- Times are changing @NordicTweets! This is the first full-time @rustlang job we are hiring for in #Trondheim: https://t.co/LTZ2A3sDgM
- @rustembedded @NordicTweets @rustlang Thanks! It's not working on embedded rust directly, though. It's tooling FOR our embedded devices ;-)
- @yatekii @NordicTweets @rustlang Not at all, our working language is English!
- @bovensiepen Let's hope for the best!
- @bitshiftmask @NordicTweets What do you want to know? Also, feel free to email the hiring manager Ken, you'll find his email at the bottom of the job ad.
- Spring colours are lovely! https://t.co/VYgdPJyHuT
- @cfriedt @NordicTweets @rustlang No, our new colleague will be working on command line utilities that interface with our development kits.
- Couldn't resist. #marketingvictim https://t.co/jpgsjbbCvi
- Hanging in this: https://t.co/ttJN1Jc41A
- I started earning money for code which was version controlled and shared using FTP. https://t.co/ngdg2dSG1K
- @gazebo_c It is!
- @byteborg https://t.co/ZHbRBymL8k
- @maaretp Yes, but keeping track of the important milestone yourself is still necessary. Makes for great input for the performance feedback, because you will discover what's important for you, and what they might not even have on the radar. And sometimes managers leave.
- Went to see those two cuties today, chilling in the sun. https://t.co/rzOLEgfSdm
- And them: https://t.co/q8J5HzJYU8
- We did some serious hiking today on the #rotavicentina in #Portugal. https://t.co/qDAlCkPzqg
- The trail was a bit tricky, though: https://t.co/bhJ60L6WSW
- @miskaknapek Last pic is here: https://t.co/wOaYcWTTKr
- Is there a Node.js espresso also?! https://t.co/ytCKhv3Mx7
- Good night! https://t.co/y7v4gJFZ97
- @badboy_ Wait until I tell you about the prices here. And all the great food!
- Can anyone explain to me, why they put water bottles outside on the walls here in Portugal? https://t.co/FYsIrUsrFO
- @badboy_ https://t.co/ar60ybShvG
- @cathrinew Ahhh, that's interesting! I wouldn't have imagined that... And yes, a lot of stray cats around here. /cc @olafurw
- If that's not an original Norwegian Ostehøvel! https://t.co/Xcyrh9sEue
- Very happy with my new @VIVOBAREFOOT ESC Tracker Forest. The profile is great but it still feels very flexible. Great for rougher terrain. https://t.co/pJmJDQdnMM
- Second day hiking on the #rotavicentina in #portugal completed. 22 km and not nearly as windy as yesterday. With around 18 degrees it had the perfect hiking conditions. https://t.co/X7puqufRrw
- https://t.co/tvAVuQhZL7
- @zimmskal Sounds legit! 🧛♂️
- @CuriousAgilist Not needed, because drinking water in this region is safe from the tap and you can buy it in stores cheaply as well.
- @lucianadrian No hablo español!
- @aebaR Ha, thanks for confirming this!
- @ataner @lucianadrian Oops.
- @NadiaZuerich My followers mostly agreed that it is that, or to fend off cats.
- Heisann, a familiar Norwegian face! #portugal https://t.co/mSbGn1uI0u
- Yesterday we had a rainy day on the #rotavicentina here in #Portugal, but our gear we wear every day in Norway held up pretty good. https://t.co/HuDXpDZo3U
- At the end of the hike we walked among cork trees. https://t.co/ARmpeSC52f
- ... and found the most awesome café in Vila Nova de Milfontes! Enjoying their pastries was so much better after a hike like this! https://t.co/0TULvv1CXp
- Hiring developers. https://t.co/gcUUdbjrXk
- Meet our fridge: https://t.co/o6PoMQa3Om
- I have no idea why this supermarket has a throne in the wine section. https://t.co/plohkTPNDA
- Waiting for the rain to stop before making a Caipirinha. #portugal #rotavicentina https://t.co/O83xPHGVrh
- @web_goddess I'll be back at work in May, happy to have a chat about it! Working on cloud solutions at a Norwegian semiconductor manufacturer who does not support remote work creates some unique challenges for me, when it comes to hiring seniors.
- @martinjuhasz Thank you for the feedback! The pictures don't tell the full "picture". Check out my Insta stories where I have videos with sound. It's just amazing how varied the nature here is. We totally love it, even in rain.
- @yatil https://t.co/89RrEy6RXD
- I think scaring away flies seems to be the use case. https://t.co/lcGoZ2BHF2
- @jrosaproenca I don't drink wine, instead I'm having this: https://t.co/TBKr70iQxM
- @jrosaproenca It's a good Porter for the warmer days, not too heavy!
- Absolutely! https://t.co/YRmLdOhxF3
- @jrosaproenca I also found this to be extremely good: https://t.co/SStd1f91Ht
- @_francied I think we can't compare our two employers...
- Beach day in Vila Nova de Milfontes! #rotavicentina #portugal https://t.co/FLLLusTLa6
- https://t.co/Vaa1G3Tu16
- And ate for 30 € (drinks not pictured) at https://t.co/EVJTUcrXQN https://t.co/m5fGBQ59Kk
- @_francied In general we are doing quite well, we hired around 200 people last year, which is roughly +20%. And most are engineers. I have some special challenges, which I think boil down to the missing track record my employer has for cloud solutions.
- @_francied And most seniors can find work at established cloud solution providers which gives them a higher chance of success and basically a guaranteed career path, because they already have huge revenue in cloud services. My employer hasn't yet reported any revenue from cloud businesses.
- 1000 🙏🏻 to @kunstp1xel who's Jutebeutel helps to clearly label me as a German tourist AND an ambassador for @codefreeze_fi 🇩🇪🇫🇮 https://t.co/4zvX0PibVd
- @AdharaIT @jrosaproenca When we left Monday two weeks ago we still had snow outside of our apartment. Going from that to beach weather and fresh orange juice is a stark contrast. It's not our first time in Portugal and we really love it here. Working remotely from here sounds super amazing! https://t.co/x4KFn7h4ur
- Original Frankfurter ™️ * mit Käse https://t.co/joO8PQJ7dD
- @pati_gallardo Rust engineers have the highest salary: https://t.co/lelXjiRfHd
- @lisacrispin @jrosaproenca So, this could be your wine cellar? 😁
- Good morning! #rotavicentina #portugal https://t.co/UX8amBPEVT
- Can you recognize all the signs? https://t.co/4YNHIIA3zq
- We had a beautiful day on the #rotavicentina in #portugal with perfect hiking weather: 18°C and sunny hiking from Vila Nova de Milfontes to Porto Covo. https://t.co/cB8MJvrBst
- https://t.co/XsGhx7C5SL
- https://t.co/0u3fgiqQIv https://t.co/7S92bv6n59
- @foofighter75 Thank you! A lot of Germans here right now, so I might have already. Surfing (and Yoga) is on the agenda for next week!
- @foofighter75 Bonus for you: https://t.co/jURsIVyHYt
- @alex_schl Suits you well! Currently we are also hiking every day and pondering about reducing work time... 😎 https://t.co/ZIQYOTFaaA
- @tdpauw Hoping for the best, Thierry!
- Ah shit. Get ready for Twitter becoming another space where people no longer feel safe to be themselves. https://t.co/4pfH7P7a6L
- Feeling attacked! https://t.co/14NOMvw8UY
- Met this cool bodega cat today: https://t.co/XbVkAEC2IU
- Came back with surf hair from surf lessons. 🏄🏻🤙🏻 https://t.co/32TcZvkrDn
- I'm working with a codebase where #GraphQL queries are shared and reused between components. And some even include "all fields from sub-entity" fragments. Isn't this an anti-pattern? Shouldn't every component request exactly the fields it needs?
- @stanislav But should merging of requests be solved by the GraphQL client?
- Went to the beach again to surf! https://t.co/FlZbJOs3So
- Great surf was had! #portugal https://t.co/eyeZdbrMO1
- @berkes Yes, it was here: https://t.co/QX8LvKNvg8

- Praise the new Lord! https://t.co/x2GBjvbHtK
- @Niklas_L Only if they are down.
- We are really enjoying staying in this beautiful retreat surrounded by wine fields and green hills in #Portugal. We couldn't have picked a better spot to spend the spring vacation. Thanks @buddha_retreats for creating this refuge. https://t.co/SHrmfLnYvP
- Breakfast of Portuguese champions: https://t.co/v5iZzs6C6Z
- @dtanzer I think @home_assistant is a good option for programmers. Open source, runs locally and supports different technologies. I have ZWave and IKEA devices at home, and they can be seamlessly combined. https://t.co/lGxxLAENsy
- @kriscorbus Compared to girls, yes ;-)
- Yes, when I speak at meetups with an obviously poor diversity I will mention it. Sometimes you might even have a choice of who to invite, who to bring with you. Make use of that choice. https://t.co/nulcswUhHj
- I never used lerna, because I never got around understanding how it works. What I use to simplify working with multiple repositories is a simple bash script: ga (git all), which runs the same command in all git repos in the current directory: https://t.co/EyeO718qPe https://t.co/1yFuyn1wfo
- Back from surf, it was so much fun again! 🤙🏻 https://t.co/JNW93hBgnd
- @Niklas_L Web of trust systems are easily exploitable. Safe spaces need rules, moderation, mediation and enforcement.
- @m4nl5r @Niklas_L Yes, a sufficiently large group has the means to create a web of trust that works in their favour.
- @Niklas_L I am aware. Would love to read your thesis!
- Another riddle from #Portugal. What are these blocks extending from the wall below the window sills? https://t.co/nNTfyymUMd
- Another example: https://t.co/l4wsspLSwj
- Fascists (far right) want to kill people who are different to them. Socialists (far left) want universal healthcare and education for everybody. Equating them is completely ignorant and morally bankrupt. https://t.co/mDncRYZNqg
- @DurandA23 Hm, I like that, but the window sill itself works for that already...
- @iambalajiv @dtanzer @home_assistant For floor heating I'm using these electric thermostats which support z-wave: https://t.co/oCrajyPcfi
- @EdyBolos Why are you giving a history lesson? This is about what they want TODAY.
- It's warm enough to hop in the pool here in #Portugal. Tomorrow we'll be back in #Trondheim, at 6°C and rain 😔 https://t.co/LexIekMAwP
- @MJantke That could work, a bit like the Romeo & Juliet balcony.
- See fireflies. ✅ #Portugal
- @_francied I've never seen this question pop up on LinkedIn... Maybe all of them are LI employees?!
- @RalfDMueller We have one already: https://t.co/tCX6jwAcE4 Sounds convincing.
- 🛬 🇳🇴
- Love how in this song Till sings "Ich belüge sogar mich" and then the auto-tune filter becomes audible. Classic Rammstein 😉 https://t.co/BKc4XKWEiG
- I like the new album, the sound mix is amazing, as usual. But it doesn't reach my favourites Mutter, and Reise, Reise.
- @liran_tal @pati_gallardo There must be a step where repo owners approve the bounty (to signal that they are welcome for the given issue). And it will also be important to communicate what an acceptable solution should be to claim the bounty, and that a solving PR may not be accepted by the repo owner.
- @w3ltraumpirat It's hard to explain. It's a bit Fremdschämen but with Metal. 🤷🏻♂️
- @w3ltraumpirat I just love how he can create a beautiful harrowing story with his "singing" style and then they support that with great sound production. https://t.co/Y5TYFhEYCB
- @w3ltraumpirat I'm not going to convince you, but Donaukinder is another fantastic example of what makes a great Rammstein song: https://t.co/UUcCjWVUCI I can listen to this on repeat for hours.
- @w3ltraumpirat I think I even made a gap-free MP3 of this song to loop it forever.
- @Stephan_Strange Kann gut sein. Ich höre da keine wirkliche Weiterentwicklung. Und inzwischen sind sie so bekannt dass sie noch 10 Jahre touren können ohne neues Material.
- The unsupervised biological experiment we ran in our dishwasher for three weeks now hopefully dies a steaming death at 70°C. https://t.co/uSGDFijedh
- @troubalex @w3ltraumpirat The great thing is that they are fully aware of how they sound to some: https://t.co/wxWzfriCTt
- @LaraKaaa Yes! https://t.co/Jp6KIQWpq7 An absolute classic!
